Garasu no Kutsu

Standard

4. Garasu no Kutsu

Within the season running by, the flowers of winter bloomed
Only a painful wind brushed past the edge of my averted eyes
That colour the two of us looked at was an unchanging red
I let it be captured and let go of your hand

Looking at the broken pieces, they are now scattering while I can’t move
Collecting pieces of dreams, now they scattered and disappeared while I couldn’t move

Within the choking season, the flowers of spring bloomed
Only a lukewarm wind brushed past the edge of my averted eyes
That place the two of us found is a disappearing blue
I let it be captured and let go of your hand

Embracing the smashed pieces, they are now scattering while I can’t let go
Collecting pieces of time, they now scattered and disappeared while I embraced them

Looking at the broken pieces, they are now scattering while I can’t move
Collecting pieces of dreams, now they scattered and disappeared while I couldn’t move

Hoshi no Umi Yori

Standard

3. Hoshi no Umi Yori

The sun that sways in my tears
the intensifying colour of the sky
I close my eyes to the wind’s song

The sea roar that break on the shore and retreat
overlaps with your breath
Untying the entwined sand
exposing the beat in my ears

The ship that starts to row in the stream of the stars
Someday, the two will aim for the same ocean
The awakening morning, the sleeping night
Don’t loosen your hands

The sleeping prince
awakens with a kiss
Looking into the tracks of my dream

The smile that breaks on the shore and retreats
starts with your breath
Untying the entwined fingers
Putting an arm around the beat

The dream starts to dissolve in the stream of the stars
The two join together and aim for the same ocean
The glittering morning, the submerging night
Don’t loosen your hands

Kassou

Footprints resound as you slide through the white city
Dry leafs cling to and are dropped by the wind that picks them up

Everything that resounded something loses its sound
Dissolve the darkness that has been following you determinedly

Now! Keep running like that to the centre of the rain
Keep running at will in the centre of time
When you become aware of the light in those hands

Footprints resound, looking back, there’s body heat
Birds leap and avoid the piercing wind

Now! Keep reeling in like this to the centre of tomorrow
Keep reeling in before my eyes in the centre of time
When you become aware of the light in these hands

Now! Keep running like that to the centre of the rain
Keep running at will in the centre of time
Now! Keep reeling in like this to the centre of tomorrow
Keep reeling in before my eyes in the centre of time
When you become aware of the light in these hands

1. Puzzle

With only the quiet sky up there
A repetition of timeless light and darkness

The controlled stream will overlap one day
Your gazing eyes resurrect the memories

Inside the empty darkness
the magma of the stars bursts open
Burn
Let it rain down
Embrace it

With only the quiet sky up there
Time is a puzzle that started just now

One day, I will confirm the unwavering stream
Your melting lips resurrect the promise

Inside the empty darkness
the magma of the stars bursts open
Burn
Awaken
Embrace

Inside the empty darkness
the magma of the stars bursts open

Inside the empty darkness
the magma of the stars bursts open
Burn
Awaken

List of characters in Jinsei no Minna

Standard

Below you can find a list of characters from my comic Jinsei no Minna.

Each character profile has a picture of a hand-drawn poster which shows their self before they underwent a trauma (most of them) and their self as they appear in my comic (so their past and contemporary selves). Looking at these pictures, it is in some cases clearly visible how much their traumas changed them.

I am still in the process of finishing the list, but these are the ones I have finished so far.

Naoki and Kotoko from Itazura na Kiss -> MeguKei

Standard

The fourth drawing I made for this project was based on a sketch I found on the Internet (probably fan-made) of Naoki and Kotoko from Itazura na Kiss. Personally, I am a fan of this story and watched the anime and all drama adaptations that have been made up to date. I just think they make a wonderful couple ^^ never mind how predictable the story may be 😀

I turned the couple into Kei and Megumi. Why? Because I was looking for a couple in which the boy wouldn’t be looking overly tender or romantic or cheesy, but rather stoic. Kei is like that. I think this image is really fitting for MeguKei because they are like that as a couple. Megumi is very energetic and romantic and Kei is very stubborn and stoic and doesn’t show his feelings most of the time. But he’s not as jerkish as Naoki :’) I can imagine Megumi calling him ‘Irie-kun’ for fun, though. I didn’t change Naoki’s shirt, but I did change the style of the face. At first, Kei’s face was more like Naoki’s in the drawing, but then I thought that that wouldn’t be very me, so I changed his face to my own style :3 Also, Megumi is wearing something else and I love how her hair came out.

So here you can see the original image versus my version (don’t criticize me too hard, still and still an amateur~)

Yamato and Mei from Say I Love You -> YamiRiku

Standard

The third drawing I made for this project is based on a title chapter drawing from the manga Say I Love You (or ‘Suki tte Ii na Yo’). The couple from this manga kiss a lot, but I was looking for a special image to use and this one caught my eye.

I turned the couple into Riku and Yamiko because they kind of have the same feeling around them as Mei and Yamato. I love Mei’s hair!!! (:3) so I decided to draw Yamiko’s hair like that too. I didn’t really change the expressions because the way they look in the original image would be about the same as YamiRiku would look.

So here you can see the original image versus my version (please don’t criticize this one, I’m still an amateur in training~)

Toraware no Babel

Standard

I may have gone a little far with this drawing since I purposely added elements from the lyrics into the drawing instead of just going with the flow. Anyways, this is a song I don’t specifically listen to a lot, but one time I did I decided that I was going to draw something for it. I have to say I am not entirely sure what it’s all about, but what my imagination made of it can be seen in the drawing.

It features Yura and she is trapped in a tower. There is a lightning-shaped crack in the wall through which she can see the outside world and she is making her way towards it, climbing sideways against the wall. Behind her is her shadow, ‘luring under evil intentions’ as it says in the lyrics. The drawing turned out very abstract in my opinion. I took some lyric-elements quite literally, like ‘the voice of captivity’ as a mouth voicing the Japanese character for ‘captivity’. And the palm of a hand reaching towards the girl is the ‘identity which she cannot escape from’. Although I prefer just letting my imagination run free next time and not focussing too much on stuff from the lyrics, the abstractness kind of has something.
Also, the print on Yura’s dress is based on the Tower of Babel.

(You can find my English translation to this song in ‘Nice Music’ > ‘Nana Mizuki’ > ‘Impact Exciter’ > ‘Toraware no Babel’.)

Hayato and Hanayu from Mixed Vegetables -> MinaKasu

Standard

The second drawing I made for this project is based on the farewell kiss between Hayato and Hanayu from the manga series Mixed Vegetables (there is no anime adaption). It is actually a bit sad, because Hayato will be going to France and this is kind of the last moment where they can be together to bid each other farewell before he leaves. That’s why, in the original image, Hanayu is crying.

I turned the couple into Kasuya and Mina. Their relationship lies under totally different circumstances, and for them this would certainly not be a sad moment. Elements I kept in my version are Hanayu’s sweater (because I liked it) and the cake. I reckoned the cake would be fitting in the context since Mina is an excellent cook and loves to bake cakes. I can imagine this is as a private birthday celebration for Kasuya where his lovely girlfriend baked him a cake 😀

A point of difference is that, because Hayato is a lot more taller than Hanayu, she raises her head more in the original picture. Because Kasuya is not that much taller than Mina, that didn’t seem necessary for them.

So here you can see the original pic versus my own version (please don’t criticize me too hard, still an amateur 8D)
