6. Ari no Yume

Carrying a big weight on my shoulders, always coming and going the same way
I can’t afford to take a rest, because I am an ant

Everyone thinks of us as small
but our hearts are stronger than a grasshopper’s or an earthworm

There are a lot of things I want to protect, such as my family and my friends
That’s why I’m working again today, even if rain will fall

One day, my chest rang out, it was a feeling like I couldn’t breathe
She was a bird dancing most beautifully through the sky

Because everyone told me that it was impossible and laughed at me
Without thinking, a single drop of my bitter tears was shed

Sparkling white wings in a blue sky, like the wind
Wanting it to notice me, I stood on tiptoes, my first love

That me has already been able to leap into the sky
together with her whom I admire, spreading big wings

Everyone would tell me I was lying and wouldn’t believe me, but
It’s really the truth, inside my dream yesterday

Hey, when do you think that dream will come true? I will continue praying
I want to become a free and beautiful bird, just like her

But, I will need to love this small body more and more
And go on living while throwing out my chest
