The fifth drawing I made for this project was based on the first kiss between Umi and Naka from the manga Nosatsu Junkie (manga-only btw). I hate the fact that I can’t collect this series any further since Tokyo Pop stopped so now I am stuck with volume 6 in which the first kiss (finally!!) takes place and I don’t know how the story will go on T^T

The story is about a very popular model, Umi, and a new model who has a problem smiling (it makes her look like a criminal) called Naka. Naka accidentally finds out that Umi is actually a guy and for keeping that a secret, Umi promises that he will help her become better at modelling (or something in that sense, it’s been a long time since I read it). Eventually, both striving for more publicity and work, they fall in love. D’aww.

Anyways, the original picture is very dynamic and suggests a swift movement of Umi rushing towards Naka to kiss her. I turned the couple into Emiko and Takeshi, because the kissing style is very much like Takeshi (haha). I mean that he is very embarrassed. Emiko is a lot more taller than him, so the right moment the kiss her would be at a staircase when he is standing higher than her (Lovely Complex 8D) or when she’s sitting down xD I like the fact that Takeshi seems bigger here, he finally seems to be ‘the man’ in this moment :3
In the original image, the lower part of the drawing is really vague and confusing since there is a lot of clothing and it’s not clear what belongs where or to whom, so I had a bit of a problem with that. That’s why I kinda kept the clothing the same :’)

Oh yeah, and the scene takes place at the exact moment that fireworks for New Year’s Eve are lit, so I hope my fireworks can be recognized as fireworks 8D This is only half of the drawing actually, but there’s almost nothing in the other half so I left it out. The real action takes place on this page ^^
